As the 'intelligent speech' network, BBC Radio 4 has a radio drama at least once a day. Each weekday there is an 'Afternoon Play' (45 minutes) and a Woman's Hour Drama Serial (15 minutes). Saturdays bring 'The Saturday Play' (60-90 minutes, mostly 60) in the afternoon and the 'Classic Serial' (60 minutes) in the evening, which is a repeat from the previous Sunday. On Sundays there is just the 'Classic Serial' in the afternoon. The 'Classic Serial' is rather badly named. Quite often it is an adaptation of a modern novel and occasionally it is a single play. There is normally also at least one 30-minute drama serial running. Again, there's a great deal more than just the drama to this network!
