There has not been any chess solving at the British Chess Championships for many years. I think the last occasion was Scarborough, 1909, but I would be happy to be corrected. In 2011 we started what we hope will be a long-running series of solving events held during the championships. There were daily sheets of problems for solving handed out during the first ten rounds of the main championship, and a formal solving tourney (with open and intermediate sections) held on one of the evenings. |
