Now we are well into the new year and I have found time to bring this website up-to-date. There are three main additions -

  • A program of the event, which can be seen by selecting the ‘Program’ item on the menu above.
  • A list of participants, which can be seen by selecting the ‘Participants’ item on the menu above.
  • David Shire, the judge of the #2 composing tourney, has decided to add a new example problem. This has been posted in the ‘Composing Tourneys’ section, which can be seen by selecting the ‘Composing Tourneys’ item on the menu above.

2009/12/24 - A new logo PDF Print E-mail

At last I have managed to acquire a proper logo for this event. You should be able see it above. It is based on the BCPS logo and has been designed and developed by my sister Linda Turton.

If you can't see the new logo, you need to clear out your browser's cache. You do this in whatever way is appropriate for your browser. If you don't know how, you should be able to find out by selecting the 'Help' item that is probably on the right of the menu in the browser menu bar above. If the menu isn't there you are probably using a recent version of Internet Explorer and you will have to press the 'Alt' key to make the menu viewable. Sorry that this latter piece of information is not obvious or instinctive, but that is one of the prices you pay for using Internet Explorer.

2009/12/13 - Venue details PDF Print E-mail

I've now added details about the venue, the accommodation available and guidance on how to book for the event. For the moment, this is just the information from the invitation updated. The updates are enhanced travel information and new prices because the British Government is increasing the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) from 1st January 2010.

You can find these new pages by selecting the 'Venue' item from the menu above.

Coming shortly are:

  • A map showing the exact location of the venue.
  • Some suggestions for those interested in tourism while visiting Sunningdale.

The BCPS is pleased to announce the composing tourneys being held in conjunction with the ECSC in 2010. Select the 'Composing Tourneys' item in the menu above for details.

Since my last posting, I have now added a map and some tourism tips in the Venue section. Also new is a 'Solving' section (accessible from the 'Solving' item in the menu above), which at this stage only contains a small amount of information.

This website is now active, but doesn't contain much yet - though the invitation is included. More content will be added over the next few weeks as the event takes shape.
