After the key, all black moves lead to a Triton/Knight battery mate on a6 or e6. The fundamental black error is unguard of the mating square, but after the mate 2...BxS is illegal as the then unoccupied square behind the bK means the bK is checked by the Triton. 1...b5 cuts the guard of the wB to c6, but 2...Kc6 is illegal because of check from the Triton. The try, with it’s reciprocal change, was an unlooked for bonus that arose naturally from the position.
