The Problemist Supplement, 2010

#2
SIRENs h5; h8:
TRITONs d3, h3

1.TRd5! (2.SIh7#)

1...SIe5 2.SIf5#
1...SIe8 2.SIf7#
1...SIh7 2.SIxh7-h8#

The key puts a second guard on g5, allowing the threat of a battery mate by the white Triton/Siren battery shutting off the black Siren from getting to h5. The first two variations are similar with the black Siren having moved elsewhere to attack h5 from a different direction. The third variation forces the capture of the black Siren as the only way of stopping it from getting to h5. A miniature setting of the idea of the 2003 joint with Michael in Problemesis.
