In the diagram position Black has only one move — 1...Kf5, the only square on which it is still observed. The key gives it two more — e5 and g5. After each flight, White plays the only move that leaves Black with no squares to move to which are observed, and this, in AntiKings, is mate. For legality, the wK has to be on the board and has to be observed. It is very unusual for me to use fairy pieces from two different families, but here it has created a neat miniature.
