Top Ten Links

  • AntiWar (1,931)

Yes, this independent website doesn’t like war and publishes informed articles by many independent journalists. By reading these you will learn much about the world that won't be broadcast on ‘mainstream media’. Of particular interest are the informed radio interviews of informed journalists by Scott Horton. I know of nobody who has a greater knowledge of what’s actually happening in the war zones of the World. His radio presentation skills are not of the best, but I for one can forgive him that as I always learn something from his interviews.

  • John Pilger (975)

The website of the veteran campaigning journalist who seeks to highlight the plight of oppressed people throughout the World. His reports and documentary films are too embarrassing to governments and big corporations to be broadcast by the mainstream media.

  • World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC) (956)

The website of the World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC).

  • British Chess Problem Society (BCPS) (142)

The website of the British Chess Problem Society (BCPS), founded in 1918.

  • stopyourekillingme.com (134)

An amazing website for lovers of mystery, crime, thriller, spy, and suspense books. They list over 4800 authors, with chronological lists of their books (over 55,000 titles), both series (5700+) and non-series. There are alphabetical author and character links and special indexes.

  • OzProblems (120)

A very good site about chess problems. Maintained by Peter Wong, it includes much introductory material about chess composition.

  • Craig Murray's Blog (119)

Craig Murray was the UK ambassador to Uzbekistan until he started reporting home that the Uzbekistan government was torturing dissidents to provide intelligence for the ‘War on Terror’. His views are robust and sometimes expressed in non-diplomatic terms, but his insights are always valuable, coming as they do from someone with considerable experience of the real world.

  • LewRockwell.com (112)

A libertarian-themed news and views website hosted by Lew Rockwell, probably the USA’s most famous libertarian. He's probably infamous though to the state that he hates and a thorn in their flesh.

  • Democracy Now! (100)

This weekday independent news program is broadcast over the Internet and on many independent radio stations in the USA. Host Amy Goodman is a leading and well-respected independent journalist.

  • The BDS Website (83)

    My own website.
